Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I have been researching dry dog food for our two Goldendoodles. We're currently feeding Orijen Senior and Orijen Puppy. The problem is both dogs have unbelievable gas (like leave the room nasty stuff) and terrible breath. Our vet suggested they have "fish breath" and we might want to feed something without fish. I'd like to stay with a food from Canada because their standards seem to be much higher than those here in the US. Is this true? If so, which Canadian food, other than Orijen, is best and not contain fish? Our dogs are 8 1/2 and 6 months old. Thanks for your help!

That's very typical. I think I remember Nancy saying it took three months for her dogs!

Yup!!!!  Our Springer still has some gas, but he has anal gland issues, so I think gas would happen regardless of his food.

I feed GO! Fit and Free from Petcurean and it is a high quality Canadian Food.  It does contain fish and Gavin had a bit of gas to begin with, but nothing smelly now.

Yogi was pretty stinky for a few days after switching to Origen, but it is very rare now for him to be gassy.

We've fed the boys (all 3) ACANA (made by the same company) for the past 2 years and have been very pleased.  They love it and I feel comfortable with the quality.  No gas or tummy issues of any kind.  For us, it's a definite keeper.
