Dried Sweet Potato's

I usually buy Buddy,  Sam's Yams Big Boyz for a special treat.  In my last bag there were only 4 pieces and it cost over $5.00!    I have a dehydrator and wonder if anyone has tried to make the Big Boyz?  I would be interested to know how it was done, such as thickness,  time in the dehydrator, storage, etc.  Looking forward to any tips you have.......Thanks, Pam nad Buddy

Mac & Lucy both love sams yams & I agree they are a bit pricey so I was thrilled when I found these at my local pet store -Canine Cavier Sweet Potato - they are sold loose & are 4.95/lb - which is a good price & what caught my eye was the big "MADE IN USA" & the company gives a portion to canine cancer research. Looked up the company on line & found out the potatoes come from Europe.  They don't say where in Europe &  now I'm not so sure it's a product I want to give my doods.  Here's the website http://caninecaviar.com/dried_sweet_potato.aspx

The Canine Caviar product is safe. The food safety standards in Europe are actually much more stringent than they are here, even for pets, and this product contains nothing at all besides sweet potatoes.

Thanks Karen, I didn't know that about European standards.  I hadn't heard of this company before but was really happy to find them - so many positives - there is nothing added to the sweet potatoes, the company gives back, the price &  they are made here. 

Haven't been one for a while & wanted to congratulate you on 700 members.  I've learned so much from this group & thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!
