Pepper is 10+ months now, and after a recent trip to the vet was mentioned that she can be moved off puppy food to adult food, which I knew we needed to do but kind of forgot about until now.
She was previously on Orijen Puppy and was doing well on it initially, but in the past few months, it seems to have gotten worse and she's had lots of diarrhea problems and after a poo test at the vet, no issues in her poop. When she does get diarrhea, I give her pumpkin and chicken and that seems to help her a lot, which leads me to think that something in Orijen puppy is not sitting quite right with her. Perhaps the fat content is too high, which I think I saw mentioned in a different thread?
She has always been on grain free food, but I don't think she needs to move to a LID (yet), as she seems fine with chicken, bison, salmon etc.
Does anyone have a suggestion of a brand/mix that I should try for her Adult food? Should I still do the normal transition process from orijen puppy, even though she is currently having issues with it?
Thanks!!

Just wanted to give an update! I have been giving Pepper the Proviable plus some yogurt every day and her poop is back to normal on the Acana, so that was definitely not what was causing her stomach issues. Not sure if she had a bug, or ate something weird outside, but looks like we are on the right track!
Thanks, as always Karen!
Great news!
Hi Everyone,
Was hoping for some suggestions. Our Milo is a very picky eater and we have been struggling with him since the day we brought him home. He is 14 months now and we just haven't found the right food for him. At this point, I am not sure there is a "right" food. He likes a particular food for about two weeks and then all of a sudden goes on a food strike and will not eat. I think he gets bored with the flavor or something. He has gone up to about 4 days without eating, or before I freak out and give him boiled chicken, but he still drinks. We are now feeding him Acana but are having diarrhea issues. We just decided to stay with one brand of dog food as we were going out and buying different brands thinking it was the brand he didn't like. We never had a dog that wasn't food driven. He never gobbles any type of food up (dry or wet), which is very frustrating. He is not underweight but I feel like we are starving him.
Any suggestions?
It would really have been better if you started this as a separate discussion rather than as part of another one which is really on a different topic, lol.
Keep in mind that every brand has different lines, and different formulas within the lines. For example, Acana has the Heritage line, the Regionals line, and the Singles line. Each line has a different nutritional profile; some might be higher in protein, might be limited ingredient, might be grain free, etc. Then in each line, you have different formulas; one might be beef based, one might be poultry based, etc. So there is never any reason to switch brands, it makes more sense to switch lines within the same brand, and then to rotate the formulas within that line. That way, you can keep a dog from getting bored without transitioning to a completely different nutritional profile. When it comes to "liking" the food, it's not going to be the brand name the dog doesn't like, lol, because dogs can't read.
But as far as "liking" the food, dogs who are picky eaters, and being frustrated with a dog who won't eat, we have many discussions here about that topic, and this one is my favorite by far. I encourage you to read it through, there is lots of advice about your questions, lots of humor, and you might just have a lightbulb moment: http://www.doodlekisses.com/group/thefoodgroup/forum/topics/an-ode-...
