Well Maizey is eating the Fromm Puppy Formula and doesnt have the FIRMEST stools yet (she's still transitioning so I"m not too concerned about it) however, my vet said that this food may be too rich for her. What does that mean!?!? I refuse to feed her garbage from the big brands, and all the great brands (like Fromm) are rich with quality ingredients... so aren't all the quality foods going to be rich?! I'm a bit confused... I don't think she has problems with grains yet, so I don't want to go completely grain-free at this point, I'm just confused what would be a "not rich" quality food. Any thoughts?
Each one is different. It depends how your purchase agreement reads. A general health guarantee is usually not worth much. But even in the best case scenarios, it has to be something that the puppy was born with, ie.e. genetic or congenital, for you to have any recourse in terms of recovering some of your expenses. If it can be shown that a condition is indeed something the pup was born with, and not caused by anything you did, a good breeder will reimburse your vet bills up to the purchase price of the puppy.
A bad breeder will never admit there has been the same kind of issue with any of her other puppies.
Given that she is having so many UTIs I think waiting to spay her until after her first heat might be a good idea. Some pups have an inverted vulva and this can cause vaginitis and Maybe even UTIs. Sometimes this corrects itself after the first heat.
