Are there any natural additives that work like doggy Bean-o?  I can't tell which of my girls it is because they both stay near me, but I suspect it's Violet.  I picked her up the other day and she passed gas.  She has some righteous gas.   We're feeding strictly the Taste of the Wild High Prairie.  Poops look good and decently solid, not super hard, not liquid.  I have noticed when we go outside she tries to eat grass - I always stop her and we go back inside.

For training treats we're using chicken and Charlee Bear Liver Flavor.  I plan on ordering some Zuke's.

Violet is a HUGE chewer, so we've supplied her with a lot of options there to rescue toys that would be her victims.  Most commonly smoked bones, bully sticks, beef tendons, beef trachea.   She does not finish one in a sitting.

Beyond that she's had the occasional carrot and apple piece, yogurt, some cheese... and some floor food from my kids "sharing."

Any help is appreciated.. for once it REALLY was the dog.

Is the gas a new thing? Any of the food or treats new?
Usually, gas is temporary. The cheese might be to blame, but not if she's always gotten it and the gas is a recent development. The tracheas sometimes give Jack gas, but it's very temporary. I think all dogs have gas from time to time (just like people), but if it's constant and there haven't been any changes in her diet, I'm stumped.
Peri gets gas from those chews; that's why we only give her antlers now. She just gets terrible, clear-the-room, gas! I wouldn't worry though.
Sadie had horrible gas when she was on taste of the wild. Had to get rid of that food she is fine on Fromm and wellness core formulas. I recently tried Origen and she has some gas with that too so I don't think that's a food for her. Maybe its the "treats" You probably need to try something else.
A lot of dogs get temporary gas when switched to grain-free foods like TOTW and Orijen. It goes away within a month as the dog's system adjusts.
Ah, we're coming up on a month - pretty close. Maybe she's just not completely adjusted. If her treats have grain in them - will that cause gas? The Charlee Bear have Wheat Flour.
It's possible, but there could be so many reasons. Overfeeding can cause gas, too.
She was on TOW for quite a while so I don't think it was an adjustment. Its not as bad with the origen so I'm going to wait and see if the gas goes away.
Thanks ladies. Violet is still pretty young so many things are new. I think I will reduce her variety of chews a bit and see if I can tell if one of them is making her more prone to stinking us out. At the very least it would be nice to know before long car rides ;) Since its not uncomfortable for her (her stools are fine, her stomach isn't tight/bloated) its more of "WOW was that the DOG" moments at night, followed by occasional childish giggling from grown adults -- I am not worried something is medically wrong. I just wondered if there was something I could add to her diet that would help reduce the instance or if something I am giving her is a known culprit for causing gas.
Sadie was KILLING us in the car too. I'm glad it's very rare now.
