Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Yay! I have not even unpacked it yet and I'm making a list of yummies for my doodles: sweet potatoes, chicken jerky, bananas, apples... What else do you dehydrate? I'm sure there is a recipe book in the box, but I just wanted to check with our DK dehydrator experts.
As for the jerky, some say pre-cook the meat and some say don't. Which way do you prefer?
I used to buy duck jerky for Monty at Costco until I realized it was made in China. He loved it. I hope my home-made jerky will taste so much better to him. I know it will be healthier!

I would love to dehydrate some Duck for Chester- I have no idea where to get it - I haven't looked to hard yet.
I did sweet potatoes and some turkey. So far.
It is fun..
I got a nesco one as well- I got it at Lee Valley Tools- I was surprised they had them.
They also sell the add on trays.
I love that store for Gardening supplies.
Was looking for a discussion on the dehydrators themselves and found another one with recipes: http://www.doodlekisses.com/group/thefoodgroup/forum/topics/dehydra...

I don't have one yet, but getting one is on my list. Which one did you get?
I got the Nesco FD-80 Dehydrator and Jerky Maker. I'll test it this weekend. Need to go to the store first. :-)
Nesco is the brand I'm interested in. Let me/us know what you think and if you find any new recipes. Have fun!
