I recently came across a website ( http://petfooddirect.com ) and I'm considering ordering Oliver's food (Blue Buffalo Lamb and Brown Rice) from there. Do any of you buy in bulk? Any website recommendations?

How big of a bag is it? I don"t order more then a 20-30-lb bag usually , depending how much and fast you go through it just because of the freshness, the smaller bags will have a ziplock on it that helps keep it fresh ,some of the larger ones don't. They do sell containers you can buy to keep the dog food in that will hold the freshness if you do consider buying larger portions. I have heard petfood direct is very good, I just think it takes a week or more to receive the order, so you would have to make sure you order in plenty of time before you run out.
Wow...the shipping kills you there. $17.00 shipping per bag to my address.....

I've been lucky finding our food locally. Pet Supplies Plus carries lots of high end dog food. Don't know if they have Blue Buffalo... My doodle uses Solid Gold and we love it.
Blue Buffalo is sold at Petsmart. In my opinion, it does not come close to Solid Gold, so if you love it, I would not switch. (But I know that these days, we all have to cut corners somewhere, lol)
I have been feeding Abby Blue Buffalo (from Petsmart) - I did some checking and Blue Buffalo gets 4* out of 5*.
It lists 5* ...Solid Gold, Newmans Own Organic, Merrik, Natures Variety - Prairie, Wellness Super 5, and Canadae.
4*...Blue Buffalo, Eagle Pack, Innova, NutriSource, and Nutro Ultra.
Everyone seems to have different ideas on dog food - it gets so confusing. I have tried Abby with Wellness and Canadae (among about a half dozen others...) and she didn't like either one of those. Newmans Own tested the best but I can't find it anywhere.
I found Newman's Own here locally - I will check that one out. It is pricey tho! urgh. Not much more than the Solid Gold tho.
Meredith, the problem with ordering kibble in bulk is that there can be storage mites in the bags. Please see the link below for more information:

it is recommended by veterinary specialists that you do not keep more kibble (or any other type of dry food) than you will use in 30 days.
