Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
So there's been a couple posts on Facebook of people being told by their normal pet stores where they buy Orijen that they should look to change because of the new sourcing and kitchen in Kentucky for Orijen. I thought maybe this was misinformation but I'm seeing info that some of the ingredients did indeed change along with vitamin levels. I stopped at our local store (Hollywood Feed) and they said the same thing about the quality level going down. Both of my doodles are on Six Fish and they do very well with it. I hate the thought of changing but I don't want to feed them something that isn't up to par quality wise and I certainly don't want to pay for quality that isn't there anymore. Any info on this or thoughts? I remember when they announced the new facility they assured the quality would not be compromised and all that, but I'm having trouble trusting it based on the limited info so far. Picture of my girls for fun. <3 them !!

The last time I bought dog food I bought 3 bags of the Orijen 6 Fish with the salmon knowing that would be the end of it. Annabelle finished up the last bag last week. She had been on it for close to 2 years. Since I couldn't justify the price of the "new" 6 Fish without the salmon, I put her on the regular formula instead. Two years ago when I transitioned her off of the puppy food it was to the original formula, but changed it to 6 Fish after a couple of months. She loved the 6 Fish and I would have kept her on it forever if they hadn't changed the formula. She doesn't like the regular formula nearly as well, but does eat it. Maybe it is a blessing in disguise since she would inhale the 6 fish, but takes a lot longer to eat the regular. When I give her the food, she sniffs it and looks at me like she is trying to tell me she wants the other stuff back.
Jack also loves fish based foods. I'm not sure what the price difference is, but you could try Acana's Wild Atlantic for your fish lover. :)
Thanks, the Acana Wild Atlantic is the same price as Orijen regular. I will try that next time I get food.
