Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
So there's been a couple posts on Facebook of people being told by their normal pet stores where they buy Orijen that they should look to change because of the new sourcing and kitchen in Kentucky for Orijen. I thought maybe this was misinformation but I'm seeing info that some of the ingredients did indeed change along with vitamin levels. I stopped at our local store (Hollywood Feed) and they said the same thing about the quality level going down. Both of my doodles are on Six Fish and they do very well with it. I hate the thought of changing but I don't want to feed them something that isn't up to par quality wise and I certainly don't want to pay for quality that isn't there anymore. Any info on this or thoughts? I remember when they announced the new facility they assured the quality would not be compromised and all that, but I'm having trouble trusting it based on the limited info so far. Picture of my girls for fun. <3 them !!

I'm fairly distressed to hear this. There shouldn't be that much difference with just the varieties of fish being changed. Lori, please let us know how it goes for your guys.
Yep. And Great Lakes.
Will do!
Just to followup... my 2 are soon finishing their first bag of the "new" Six Fish and have done fine with it. I probably didn't need to, but I did gradually mix in the new with the old and transitioned over a 4-5 day time period.
They love it just as much as the "old" Six Fish and their poops have been perfect. The only difference I can tell with the new stuff is that the bag doesn't come vacuum packed, and the kibble is slightly darker in color.
I always thought the old Orijen was vacuum packed, too, but the company said it wasn't. We had a thread here about that some years back.
I'm glad they like the new formula and are doing well with it. :)
We opened our first bag of the "new" Six Fish last week. Did a short transition of a few days. Jaxson likes it as much as the old. Yes, it is a little darker in color. And the bag is only 13 pounds!
I'd give it a week or two. Give the Proviable daily. If things haven't improved, you can try Acana's Wild Atlantic or Wellness CORE Ocean.
I'm glad he's doing better, and I hope that continues.:)
We fed Orijen to our 2 doodles for the past couple years. They couldn't handle the switch in formula to the Kentucky facility :( We still haven't found a food we love as much as Orijen but they don't want to eat it and had diarrhea for several weeks.
