We have been ordering Orijen from chewy.com for nearly two years. Both the 13 and 25 lb. bags always came to us in a vacuum packed state, meaning all of the air was removed from the bag. If you shake the bag, nothing moved because it was tightly packed in all air removed..
We just received a new order and the bag had no vacuum effect and the kibble was very loose inside it, unlike every other bag we have ever received from Orijen. I called Chewy and told them about this, they didn't think it was a big deal, but sent me another one. It also is not vacuum packed and the kibbles are all loose inside. What??
Should I be concerned? the date on this second bag is October 2016. It is over 3 months old. Is this a problem?
I will be calling Orijen about this on Monday. If anyone out there has any thoughts on this, I would love to hear them.
Thanks!

The same exact thing happened to me and I did the same thing....called them and they replaced it with no hassle. They are wonderful to work with and will do anything to please. They weren't concerned but I wanted the vaccumed sealed one. Just call again and they'll shop another and ask that it be shipped quickly. They're great.
I always thought the Orijen bags were vacuum packed also, but as F mentioned, Champion has said that they weren't. I don;t think it's an issue, but I agree with Rae that the expiration date is.
I think that the difference in the bags may be due to the new U.S. manufacturing plant, but I'm not sure.
