To make a long story short, This had good reviews on some sites - Dogs like it, stools are good.
Price is right and they have it the local feed store that I go to regularly. Does anyone know why I should not use it.
That particular variety isn't listed, but PMI gets really bad reviews on this site, all varieties listed have corn as the main or second ingredient- that is bad news, corn is really not digestible by dogs and if your dog is sensitive it can cause allergic reactions http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/showcat.php?cat=all...
Have you tried chicken soup for a dog lovers soul? It's a 4 star rated food on that site, my puppy just loves it and it's far less expensive than some of the really premium brands
I think that Cathy has decided to use Fromm since she posted this, but to answer the above question anyway:
The ingredients in the "Exclusive" line are much better than the rest of the PMI products, as far as the Dog Food Analysis website goes. For me, the problem is that PMI is Purina. Purina was involved in too many of the pet food recalls for me to be comfortable with their business practices, which included purchasing contaminated products from China through Menu Foods to save a little $$$. I would not trust them not to use Chinese ingredients again.
The safety of any product is dependent on the integrity of the people that stand behind it.
