I know quite a few of us have transitioned to Fromm's at or around the same time and was wondering how it's going. Chewie seems to really like it and is now completely switched over.

Did all of you notice how much less is the daily recommended feeding amount for Fromm's? I know they say higher quality foods require smaller amounts, but he had been on Wellness which is considered good quality. I know he would eat more, but don't want to overfeed him.

What about California Natural Chicken Meal and Rice Adult; very simple ingredients and usually well tolerated? When you transition, you need to go very slow with a dog with a sensitive stomach. It might mean adding just a few pieces of the new food at a time while you decrease the old food. Don't just add the new food to the same amount of the current food or you run the risk of overfeeding; overfeeding can cause diarrhea.
Yes, this is a good idea. The California Natural is made by the same company that makes the Innova.
Update: Thanks Karen and Jack, and Beth and Piper. I took your advice on California Natural. My store only had Lamb and Rice so we bought a small bag to try. We have had great luck since Monday on the food transition.

We had trouble the first day, but that was only because he stole one of those treats off the bottom shelf. An hour later, it came up and all is well since then. :)

Another Happy Dog with a Full Belly
Glad the transition is going smoothly. We had Bailey on the Lamb and Rice Puppy and he had soft stools the entire time; goes to show you each dog is different. We are now feeding Acana Pacifica and stools are now firm; out problem is he likes to poop 4-6 times a day. I think he still has an immature system as he also likes to pee often, so I am going to leave him on this food for a good while and give it some time.
Maybe I spoke to soon. I woke up today with a cute dog who jumped up on my bed and puked yet once again. UGH. Undigested food again. Let him outside to do his morning thing and he had the runs.
Yes, I have taken it slow. He will have to go on adult food someday. I am going to continue on the CN adult we have in the house. Keep mixing and see how it goes.
I still think this one has gone better than my last attempts.
I wonder if this throwing up all the time is food related or physiologically related?
Joanne, maybe digestive enzymes would help. I know Dianne Carter has advised using them; let me see what I can find in the past discussions. BRB
Okay, here you go: Wholistic Pet Digestive Enzymes, and here's the store locator on the Wholistic pet website:

Here's one of the discussions where Dianne discusses the digestive enzymes:

We recently transitioned Harper to Fromm...the duck and sweet potato variety. She absolutely loved it during the transition, and also would scramble for every last bite after she was getting 100% Fromm, however for the past week she hasn't been eating her entire serving. Her stools are also much, much softer...any suggestions?
A formula that has brown rice high up on the ingredients list might help.
Or you could try waiting a bit and see how it goes. Her stools night firm up a bit. Dogs do go through times when then eat less for a while and then more, etc. i feed my dogs fromm's and after awhile they adjusted very well.
Yes, we made the transition and they loosened up for a bit with both dogs. Now they are firmer than ever. Give it time.
