My 10 month old pup has been on Earthborne Holistic Meadow Feast for about 6 months (after having tummy troubles on Orijen Puppy.) Now I am seeing the new Venture line from the same company... it says limited ingredient, but I thought the regular Earthborne kibble was limited already. Is there any benefit to the Venture line? I tried a sample of the Alaska Pollock and Pumpkin recipe in his kibble and he seemed to like it.

I'll have to take some time to do some research on the different lines, and see what the differences are.

Okay, so the Venture line is the only LID line Earthborn makes. It is true that the Meadow Feast formula does have a single protein, but it is the only formula in the "regular" line that does, all of the rest have multiple proteins, and it is not really LID in the sense that while it contains only one protein, it contains a lot of plant ingredients; "limited ingredients" means very few ingredients of any kind, although single protein is the most important factor there.
If your dog is doing well with his current food, there is really no benefit to the Venture line unless you want to switch things up, which is not a bad idea from time to time. Just stay away from the more exotic formulas like squid: you must always keep some proteins in reserve in the event that your dog does ever develop a serious digestive disease.

Thank you Karen! This was helpful.
