What is that a picture of?

What is Guinness and Murph's favorite dessert?  Every time I come to The Food Group page I see that picture but I've no clue what it is.  It looks like yogurt w/ craisins, but I thought craisins were poisonous for dogs (or am I thinking of raisins....)

LOL I think you are right!  But we should wait for the expert to chime in ;)  Craisins are not poisonous being dried cranberries, raisins and grapes are the problem.

Too funny!  I'd never paid attention to that pic, but looking at it now, I thought they were raisins, too.  I just Googled & cranberries (if that's what they are), along with other berries, appear to be safe for dogs.  I'm going to have to expand Snickers' & Duke's treat options!

It is indeed yogurt with dried cranberries, or "craisins". Craisins are not harmful to dogs. Grapes are toxic to dogs, and therefore, raisins are toxic to dogs because they are just dried grapes. :) 

You can also add fresh blueberries to yogurt for a dessert your dog will love, or just about any other fruit.

Well, it has been there a long time; but on the other hand, look at the good discussion that came of it. :)

And some people learned that craisins and other fruit are good for dogs.

But what if others think raisins are good?  I never thought of it before this, so others probably aren't making that mistake.

I'm curious, if Yogi eats his 3 meals a day of Origen, is it a bad idea to give him treats like we are discussing here.  Will he become too picky

Treats are generally used as rewards. I have never just given my dogs treats randomly or for no particular reason. The yogurt, with or without berries, craisins, etc. has nutritional benefits. I would only give it after a meal, occasionally, and if you do it that way, it should not cause a dog to become picky about his regular meals.
