17 weeks old, 27 pounds per report. They've been feeding her Pro Plan Large Breed Puppy and I know that's not on the list. She said that other food gave her diarrhea. I know I'm not supposed to change food for 2 weeks (is it the same if it's not an 8 week old puppy?) We're going to have to make a trip to Petsmart when they open.

I'm already feeding 2 dogs 2 different foods. Do I have to find a 3rd? Or would Fromm (this bag is whitefish and potato) or Nature's Variety Instinct Raw Boost in Beef be appropriate? I guess it doesn't really matter if I need a 3rd food. It's just a lot of dog food storage containers! And it seems silly, but it wouldn't be the end of the world. But I can't do the nutrient comparison thing very well. So I don't know where to start on the approved food list!

Thank you always!

At least I'm not losing my mind! 9 cups a day would make so much poop. But I bet she would eat 4 1/2 cups a day and like it. She is my first real chowhound. She has the most to eat and finishes first and looks hopefully at the others to see if there are any leftovers.

We ran out of kibble this morning (remembered last night after store closed) so Riley only got 1 cup out of her 1.75 cups this morning...she is probably pretty pissed :p going to give her a few handfuls of treats throughout the day to tide her over until dh comes home with a new bag,  poor pup, she is a chow hound too for sure.  Starts complaining about wanting her supper half an hour before her usual suppertime.

Stacy, you did such an incredible job with Ava and with Maggie; I know you will do a fabulous job with Willow too.

Thanks Nancy. I'm really so proud of my Maggie girl. And it goes without saying that Ava was just the best. Katie too, really. She's a little goofy love bug, but they are all easy to live with. And isn't that what we really want from them?

Willow has such potential. She's bright and curious and food motivated. If I can be a good dog trainer we can do anything. If she doesn't turn out amazing it will be because I messed her up. I feel like I have a good knowledge base, but the actual physical training is hard. Leash, dog, treats, timing. I'm not that coordinated and I don't have enough hands! But I really can't complain about her behavior. Can I say this without jinxing us? She's totally potty trained. And I know most of it is her, but I take a little credit for that too and I couldn't be more thrilled. I still watch her really closely. She's still a puppy and trust is earned, but she's doing a really good job.

You are off to a wonderful start!
