Our puppy has been on Blue Buffalo since we got him. He does well on it, but sometimes has loose stools, which we address by giving him pumpkin. The problem is now he seems sick of it. He has no enthusiasm about eating his kibble, although he devours his training treats. I've done the research of which foods are the best quality, but I'm wondering if there are any that seem to have a really great taste to our Doodles. I want Guinness to really enjoy his food, and right now he just doesn't seem that interested. Hopefully this wasn't a prior discussion. I searched but didn't find anything.
I don't know what it is about my food-a-holics but they eat the same kibble every day and would probably eat it all day and as treats if I let them. They are just food-a-holics (we feed Canidae to the doods).
My dogs loved Kirkland for a while, then Evo for a while.... Two of them just aren't big eaters so I figure that maybe they aren't hungry enough. I just try to ignore it. The third guy will eat whatever I put down for him - he doesn't eat the others' food, but he would definitely overeat from his dish no matter what was in it.
My dogs have scarfed down their kibble-only meals for as long as I have had them both. Don't know why. They love the Taste of the Wild. I figure they get hungry, they will eat it. I am just not into the human food thing - just a personal opinion. They get treats such as apples, carrots and cheese, but that's about it!
From the main page of The Food Group; Also in the Food Group Guidelines: WE ASK THAT YOU NOT POST ANY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR PRODUCTS FOR WHICH YOU RECEIVE ANY TYPE OF COMMISSION OR COMPENSATION. THANK YOU.
No, but another food, for which you do receive a commission was also mentioned, and you asked to be contacted if Jane wanted further information. It is not possible for me to edit someone else's comments, I can only delete or let them stand in full.
We appreciate your input.
Thanks everyone for this great advice. I tried sprinkling cheese on his kibble and it totally worked. I'm also going to rotate between two or three kinds to keep things interesting. I even broke down and cooked him some chicken, ground it up, and mixed it with the kibble last night. He inhaled his dinner. I think we're on the right track!
That's great news, Jane! Stay relaxed and take it day by day...you will find what works best for you, and maybe have some fun experimenting while you're at it.
