Teaching doodle to fetch beer

DH said that if I can get Chewie to fetch him beer from the fridge like the dog in this video, he'll let me get another doodle!!

I thought about teaching Hops this too, but I decided not to because I didn't want him to get free access to the fridge. I'd probably want to teach him how to open the fridge first. It looks like they have a rag tied to the door handle to make it easier. Then I'd probably just get him to fetch the beer. If he already knows how to fetch, this shouldn't be too difficult. I'd start with the beer close to me and move it further away, eventually to the fridge. No proven success here, but I'd definitely break the trick up into parts. Let us know when Chewie can do this trick!

I showed my bf the video and he gave me the OK to teach Hops this... We can open the fridge now, but I'm not really sure how to teach him the rest! Have you guys started yet?

This was great!  I'm not sure I'd want to teach my guys to open the fridge though....LOL.  I'm guessing my Doods would be fetching more than just beer.

I think you absolutely need to teach Hops to do this, given his name ;)

I don't have any advice, but good luck!  Be sure to post videos of your progress.  

I don't like beer, so I'd have to teach Halas to get a glass from the cabinet, open the freezer (bottom half of the fridge, so at least possible), fill the glass with ice, open the fridge, get the bottle of Skinny Girl Margarita (from a shelf that's way too high for him to reach), open it, pour it into the glass, and bring it to me without spilling it.  It all sounds pretty realistic except for the not-spilling-it part.
