Just wondering if anyone has ever traveled with their doodle on a plane? My family heads back east every year for christmas for almost two weeks and I would love to bring Emma with me if I could.

What are your thoughts on airplane travel? Have you done it? Do you know anyone who has?

I'm surprised you didn't get any responses here. I know we've had discussions on this previously, so you might try doing a search. Our most recent discussion was around the puppies that died on a flight I believe to Chicago (can't remember exactly). Long story short, we used to have a small Toy Poodle that we used to fly when my DH was in the military. However, in this day and age of questionable airlines, there is absolutely, positively, no way that I would ever put Lucy and Sophie on an Airplane. I don't even want to put me on a plane, but I definitely wouldn't put them. If I had a dog small enough to go in cabin with me I would, but not my Doodles! All of our vacations are now planned around being able to drive and take our girls with us. Even the last several years that we had our Toy Poodle and we were in Florida, all of our trips to family in North Carolina and Ohio we started driving vs. flying because the stress of flying was just too much for her.

My parents once took their chow chow mix on a plane to Colombia. When they came back, he became aggressive. They don't know  if it as just his breed or something they did to him on the plane. Have you ever heard of PetAirways? You can fly your doodles there in the cabin in a crate of your own but it is only within the USA. I think it is pretty pricey but I am not sure.

I'm afraid to transport Rosy in cargo and have been patiently waiting for Pet Airways to begin serving the San Francisco or San Jose Airport.  That said, they are definitely expensive but this is probably the only way I would put Rosy on a plane.
