Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hello! So I have an English Goldendoodle named Murphy. He is beautiful, but everywhere we go, we have people ask "oh cute...what is he?" Even the lady at PetSmart has called him a labradoodle (more specifically- a "more lab than doodle labradoodle") the past 4 times we have gone in there (despite me correcting her every time. I think he's precious and his intelligence and spunky personality make him perfect, but it gets sort of discouraging after awhile! Anyways, as you can imagine, I'm searching my best to figure out what he will look like when he is older and eventually fully grown. Here are a few pictures of him. The first as a baby, second around 10 weeks, and last 15 weeks. PLEASE HELP. Any and all feedback would be appreciated! :)

You have came to the right place for peace of mind! I just posted in this group recently with frustrations of constantly hearing negative feedback on my beloved Lulu. Within hours to days I received an outpouring from fellow members assuring me that my dog looks like she should and that all doodles are different. I cannot help with pictures of what you are looking for since mine is only a few weeks older, but I can promise you this group will help ease your mind and answers. Good luck!
Thank you! It's just so hard to tell, and I've never owned a doodle (or big dog) before!
My labradoodle looks like an English Springer Spaniel. He's grown larger than that breed now & people really don't know what he is now....I think I got English Setter questions today. My Hank is 7.5 months and is getting more doodley everyday. Your puppy is beautiful and will be even more gorgeous full grown.

And I want Hank, Michelle!!!! :-}

He is an adorable dog.  Because he doesn't have the usual facial furnishings, I guess people don't think doodle.  I really wouldn't worry about it. In the scheme of the world, it really is not important.  We tend to say ours are poodle mixes, although one is always called a poodle :-}.  We easily acknowledge that they are mutts.  I think my dogs are very cute and if someone doesn't, I don't spend any time worrying about it.  The PetSmart lady is dumb - and not a good sales person for that store.  She would offend me, and I don't care what my guys get called!  I would not deal with her other than whatever is needed - no engaging in conversation etc.  If she asks what your dog is for the umpteenth time, say a mix and walk on by or that you are training and can't talk. Whatever....
