My doodle appears to have plenty of poodle, but a slick nose?????

Not that it matters, Murphy is a keeper for sure. I am curious though as to whether my pup has the facial hair that will develop into that full shaggy doodle look. Of all the pics of 11 - 12 week old pups that I see, i don't see any that look like him...... shaggy but with a slick nose. What do you think?

There's a doodle somewhere around here that looks a lot like your adorable pup.... but the name is escaping me right now!  Maybe browse through the members of this group?

To me it looks like Murphy will have a shaggy muzzle, but most of the hair will be pointing down (instead of some pointing up, obscuring his eyes).  

You won't really know for sure until he's over a year old.  It's fun to watch them grow :)

I do see the "chrysanthemum" between the eyes, and I think I see the beginnings of the mustache, too. I'd say Murphy does have facial furnishings and is going to "doodle out" more than you might think.

Murphy is a real cutie pie, Jane!  My Monty also came from somewhere in North Carolina, but I am not sure where.  What breeder did you get Murphy from?  By any chance was it Susan Weller?

No it wasn't Susan Weller. I did a google search on her, but couldn't find anything.
Love the pics of your Monty Moose. How much does he weigh. He looks like a big cuddling doodly love!

Hey Jane.  I also did a search for her and came up empty handed.  I would love to find out where my boy came from, but that is becoming more difficult than I expected.  Monty is indeed a big boy and a love.  At 8 1/2 months old...he weighs in at 70 lbs.  Looking at Murph's parents...you could have a big boy too!  :)  Looking forward to watching him grow.

Update: Murphy is 5 mos old, weighs 37 lbs, and he's starting to doodle! Also such a good pup.i
