Roger is going on 13 weeks an I have yet to see any poodle except that his hears keep gettin bigger lol and a some little coarse hairs all over his body. I love him anyway just the way he is but I hoped I would get a big furball... Guess not. It will be interesting to see what he looks like when he gets older. His hair is getting longer on his back and feet but still short on his sides. We shall see... He's the funniest dog ever and the sweetest so I guess I should thank the stars for that ;)

Tina, Roger is adorable. Izzy didn't come into her true "doodle" coat until she was around 18 months and her hair is still shorter and doesn't grow very fast. I felt the same way...i wanted a furball. But she was so adorable that you couldn't help but fall in love with her:) Roger is still very young.

I wanted a fur ball and I got it. Which one is Izzy? They both look super doodley. Beautiful dogs you have. I just came from the vet and they didn't believe me that Loki was half poodle, haha. He is 11 weeks and I'm pretty sure he has just recently started growing the first signs of a beard. Just some longer hairs on his snout that stick straight out. I showed them to the vet and she just said "hmm" and kept trying to flatten them lol. At what age do they start to grow facial trimmings if they ever do?

Thank you. Izzy is the golden color. Look at my page and you can see how her hair grew. I always said she was a "work in progress" until she was about 18 months. They go through quite a few coat changes the first year. Loki is adorable!!

Roger is adorable.  No, he doesn't look like the typical furball, but he has the most appealing face and his ears - precious.

Thanks guys! No matter what he ends up looking like, I am already in love. It might be the sleep deprivation talking but I don't think so LOL. He really is the sweetest and funniest dog. When I kennel him and he doesn't want to be, he cries for a minute and then pitch in his voice changes and you can tell he's mad and he just gives in. It's quite possibly the cutest thing I've ever heard. I'm so glad for finding this site because it has helped a lot. It's been 16 years since I last ventured into puppyhood and how quickly we forget all that it entails. :)

I think I know what you're talking about with the kennel "give in" voice. Willow would whine, and then I knew she was done because she'd do this kind of groan, like a cartoonish "hmmmmph". She's all done with her crying stage. But when she doesn't get her way she still does it. It's like a teenagers eye roll. The other day, I kept telling her "get down" off the couch because she was wet from swimming. She finally laid on the floor with one of her "hmmph"s.

This is my first dog with this much personality. She cracks us up all the time.

Those ears!  So sweet.

Hello there, I just joined this group today and still learning my way around here. I feel you. My little girl Candy is not so doodly too. But like you, though I've always wanted a puffy long haired doodle...Candy owns my heart. She is turning 4 months old on June 25th. Some say it's too early to tell how she'd look like permanently.

Hi Tina!

I'm brand new to the site but I am in the same boat with my Opie.  He is 13 weeks and I don't really see any "doodle" at all..  Don't get me wrong, I'm so in love with this dog but just curious if you could post a picture of what Roger looks like now?   The pictures below are Opie at 8 weeks and at 13 weeks..

We originally wanted a curly doodle, but honestly I prefer Luna this way :)  Very low maintenance (she's never been professionally groomed and I don't have to brush her), I can always see her beautiful eyes and cute facial expressions!
