No actually I prefer the body even with the head, tail, and legs to be CLOSE to the length on the body. I never shave the belly...no reason to on a dog that doesn't have massive fur there.

I think you did a great job. Longer on the face, legs, and tail would be my choices also. The belly really does need to be shaved, and I shave the nose (top) and inside the ears also. It doesn't look like his coat is too heavy, so inside the ears may not be necessary. But it does grow back very quickly and each time you do it, you get a little better at it. Wonder if you will have time to experiment on grooming the dog when your daughter gets here.
