Just so you know, you are one hell of a cool Grandma! And an excellent photographer! Poor Mazie, between her being black and barely showing up in photos and the fact that even with a point and shoot camera, I am no photographer, it's hard to get good pictures of her. I should take her somewhere to be photographed professionally - she's so gorgeous and so special to us that I think she deserves better than what I can do myself. John's not much better, either, but he is quicker with the point and shoot, so he'll get a few good shots from time to time. And thanks for the info on your amazing pop art! I definitely don't have the skills or the patience, so I'll have to enjoy the art form vicariously through you! Regarding t-shirts, do you know anyone who does silk-screening? That's definitely the way to go if you can find someone. Cheers!

You mentioned Gracie is your substitute grandchild. I can totally relate. I'm 42 and unfortunately cannot have kids, so Mazie, my substitute child, is spoiled rotten! But still so good natured, so I don't worry. I just dote on her and my amazing niece and nephew who are 4 and 6 respectively. They live in Norfolk, just a few towns west of Dover.

It all depends. My hobby is photography and I took an Adobe Photoshop class a number of years ago and have sort of dabbled in rendering photos into a form of art. The Photoshop classes that are now offered are CS4 (Creative Suite 4). I took Photoshop 6.0 at an Adult Continuing Education school.

I get a bunch of Dog supply catalogs in the mail and there is a photo in there that is similar to this one I did of Gracie. They want something like $300 for it and I then challenged myself to see what I could do. You do need the software to do it and patience. I had to select out the background so I just had Gracie's head. Then I went into the "filters" which come with the program and played around with Hue and Saturation. Then I went for the color. I printed out the art work on tee-shirt iron on transfers and it looked really cool on the tee-shirt. Problem now is the stupid transfer iron on stuff. I did everything the instructions did and washed it exactly like they said. The iron on got all cracked and started flaking off. That is my next quest...make the transfer stay on through laundering!!
