I did a genetic test on Tara a few years ago. You're right about there being some question about the accuracy of them. What the testing company told me is that the more generations of "mixing" involved the less reliable the results. So if you have a mix that is half and half such as a first generation doodle than the test will most likely be correct. But with the ALD's like Tara who have many generations of "mixing" the accuracy rate drops off. Here is a link to the discussion about Tara's test if you would like to read about it:

There are several doodles on DK who have light eyes. It think with them it is just a lighter pigmentation and it doesn't affect their sight.  Hope that is the case with your girl. Her skittishness could also be from her early weeks of not being socialized properly by the breeder.

Awww.  Love this story. Love her Spots.  Love  you, for loving her.    What's going on with her eyes?  Write me if you wish. Just letting you know, I live many years, and very happily with a giant blind dog.  He was great

I think she has a labbish body (many say pointer looking) oh and slight curls on the butt and tail.  I'd love to do a DNA test but have heard really mixed reviews.  Even though it was supposedly a breeder I was horrified at her living conditions so I technically consider her a rescue!  They warned she was very skiddish but once she warmed up she about climbed into my lap so I knew she wanted to come home with me.  Based on the look on the owners face I knew she hadn't had much human contact.  She is still very skiddish but I really think she has a vision problem, those light eyes I don't think she sees well in the daylight.  We do lover her to pieces even if she's silly looking. I have to admit I'm having a tough time spotting the Doodle genes in her..although her nose may qualify! LOL!  The important thing is that you all found each other and have so much love to share!

Thank you, she's pretty intense when she looks at you.  She actually freaks my mom out which is a hoot.  Can you believe she is supposed to be a F2 doodle?  I believe I was dooped but my daughter fell head over heels for her and she is an absolute love.
