My dogs as you know, have greenish eyes and get gold eye with flash photos.

No, I've never seen this problem except in a Blue-Eyed Husky.  There are many on here with this eye coloring and it does not happen. 

If it does, I'll link you an old conversation on why this takes place, but really, unless you have a Phd, it is beyond the common photographer.

A good diffused speedlight will save you if you have this problem.

Sandy, his eyes are gorgeous. Gold and Green depending on the lighting.  I posted a few pics from Christmas Eve because I was having trouble with Bill's eyes.  Instead of Gold Eyes, he photographs with red eye which will not correct in post-processing. Strange.

So glad I captured them today.
