Joanne thank you this helps so much! I did notice that his behind area cords much faster and that part never had an issue. His neck, head, arms, and front were always the issue! Woohoo now I know!
Haha awwww Spud! Can u imagine him thinking "what did I do!" Whenever the squirt bottle came up?

They cord naturally. Just let them cord and promote it by spraying.   Like curly haired girls in high school. So cool  :)  You will, get used to this.  Just ignore all the topics about brushing. We really do not have the shaggy doodle fur that needs brushed.   Lucky us~ if you can think of it that way

I remember that Brushing then spray bottle squirts to re-wet the fur so it curls up before it matts is the best way.  Unfortunately, I learned that from the grooming group too late.  When he was a wild out of hand pup, I used squirt bottles as the " NO"   Not good. But brush, then send him out in the rain I can do

Lol thank you. Yes shaving will soon be my friend too! Zoe never had fur like this! I feel like all I did this weekend was brush my dog!

Spud seems to have settled some in his wild wild coat.Now four, either I accept it more, or it is better.This type of doodle coat is such a challenge.  For us, shaving is our friend.

Oh man Bender is Almost 11 months and his fur gets matted everyday! Seems like I just spend hours a day just getting those Matts out. May have to shave him down soon :(

Spud may be scruffy but he sure is cute looking as can be : )  I had Baxter shaved down before Christmas and I miss his  scruffy look............. but I don't miss all the time and effort it takes to make him look less scruffy.  BTW, those are his only 2 looks when his hair is long...scruffy and less scruffy : + )
