About Me:: I joined this site because I'm thinking of adopting a Labradoodle or Goldendoodle puppy or young adult as a friend and companion for my 18 month old dog, Candy. I'm exploring the "Doodleverse" and enjoying doing so.

What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!: I adopted Candy from the local Humane Society when she was four months old. The Humane Society called her a black male standard poodle. I call her a "Rosarch dog" because everyone we meet seems to see a different breed in her:)

Where did you get your doodle(s)?: Shelter

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?: Candy chose me.

When we met at the Humane Society, she climbed into my lap and sat quietly, (ignoring the friend I was with and the tennis ball and treats we'd brought) and looked up at me with the sweetest and saddest eyes I'd ever seen.

Candy's an independent minded, uber-happy and boisterous dog. She hasn't climbed onto my lap, or had a sad, quiet moment, since that first day.

What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?: I take Candy to our local dog park every day at lunchtime for an off-leash romp. She has a circle of canine friends there whom she runs, wrestles and plays tug-of-war with while we owners watch and chat and laugh. Candy's park play-time is the highlight of both our days.

Does your doodle(s) shed?: Yes!

Who grooms your doodle(s)?: Me - Candy's thin, wiry coat (which matches the local mud -- handy in winter:) brushes out easily and doesn't require trimming. Now, if only she'd stop trying to eat her brush:)

Favorite Doodle Products?: Yummy Chummies (stinky salmon) dog treats and anything that squeaks.

Relationship Status:: Single

Citizens for Off-leash Areas - COLA "exists to support and maintain Seattle's many off-leash dog parks." Candy likes COLA's directions to, and downloadable map of, off-leash parks.

Explorer Dog has "sniffed all over Western Washington", and shares a lot of "noseworth news". Candy likes his day hike suggestions and list of local links.

Here you'll see that he had an early start with such duties - this was a photo from the breeder before he was even old enough to come home with us!
