What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!: Garvey and Rocket are Goldendoodles. Garvey is blonde, and Rocket is grey/salt & pepper. They are blood brothers from a litter we rescued. We kept Garvey from the litter and found homes for everyone, and now Rocket is back home to stay after many adventures!

Where did you get your doodle(s)?: Rescue

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?: They chose US. Love these guys.

What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?: Watch them wrestle. And of course teaching time. Rocket is learning rollover.

Does your doodle(s) shed?: A little bit but nothing major

Who grooms your doodle(s)?: We bathe, but no haircuts (yet)

Favorite Doodle Products?: CrazyDog

We stopped by PetSmart today, and in the groomer's window from afar I saw fur. White, shaggy Garvey fur. I ran up to the window, and it looked just like Garvey. It was one of our pups' brothers! He was beautiful, and watched us the whole time. He recognized us. Garvey jumped up and looked and whined at his brother. I asked the girl in the grooming room what his name was, and sure enough!

After watching him get his 'shave and a haircut' (poor fella, they shaved him down from head to tail) we left a note for his owners wishing them a Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday to Canyon this coming Jan 5.

Funny how small this world is, isn't it?

I know I sure would. I think it is pretty neat that you can account for so many of them. How did you originally settle on Garvey? Why do you think some from that litter have needed re-homing? Size? Boisterousness (is that even a word?) I wonder because it seems from my limited contact with Ned's breeder that she has had beautiful (on the outside) pups that have needed re=homing. And the 3 that I have seen are seriously shy and fearful. Don't know if it is something she is doing in chosing homes, if there is something in the dog's genetic personalities (she only uses her one male as the stud) or if I am unaware of the reality of percentages of dogs moving to new homes.

How many were there in the litter? How did you come to rescue them in the first place? I wish we could find more of Ned's littermates. I would love to compare notes about their personalities, fur, physical traits.

At 7:15pm on December 19, 2008, Nancy, Ned, Clancy, and Charlie said…: I guess we were really lucky. Ned was neutered at almost 4 months by a "substitute"vet ( ours was on vacation). He used disolving stitches and just told us to watch Ned who licked rarely even noticed he was missing something. The stitches disolved and that was that!

She was actually my first pick so I was really excited to meet her. I have an album on my site of Ned and Ruby. The other sibling is Teddy a rehomed little guy that is so sweet but reeeeeely skittish and fearful. He is now with an older lady who gives him just what he needs - gentle lovin'. Please contact me with the results of your wonderful re-meet. P.S. Ned and his sibs loved each other from the first second.

PS I have re-met two of my siblings and we had lots and lots of fun. I wish they could live with me forever but their mommies won't let them go.
