- About Me:
- I am a senior at OSU, working on my BFA in photography. After graduating, I hope to start doing agility and/or flyball with my mini GD, Ripley. I'm a big fan of camping with my dogs, swimming with my dogs, and cuddling with my dogs. They are such a blessing.
- What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
- I am owned by a 3 year old mini-Goldendoodle named Ripley. He is one of the most friendly, athletic, and kind dogs I've ever met. His intelligence never ceases to amaze me. He is clicker trained, and knows all kinds of fun tricks, including "get your tail." Ripley's sister is a 2 year old Lhasa named Molly. Molly is a marathon lounger, but steps up to be a guard dog when necessary. She is much calmer than her brother, and is often annoyed with Ripley's big-brother antics. The last member of the fur-kid clan is Emma, a 3 year old doll-faced Himalayan girl. Emma is quite used to puppy kisses, and seems to think that she's one of the canine pack. All three keep me company on the couch while I am studying, and Ripley always seems to know when I need to take a break to throw his ball for him. Ripley and Molly also go to work with me, and are the office's official people-greeters. They take their job very seriously, and enjoy their salary, which is paid in the form of bones, pettings, toys, more bones, and yummy wet food.
- Where did you get your doodle(s)?
- Breeder
- Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
- I had met several standard-sized goldendoodles, and was impressed by their personalities. After speaking with their owners, and doing a lot of research, I found that they met all of the traits that I was looking for (low shedding, friendly, bouncy, intelligent, etc). As a college student, and an apartment dweller, I needed a smaller dog. When I discovered the doodles come in mini, I found one of my own, and am so glad that I did.
- What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
- Ripley is just so versatile. He is a big dog in a small package. He loves to play ball, go on hikes (he will even climb fallen trees), swim, go to the dog park, etc. He learns so quickly; even my dog-trainer friend commented on his exceptional intelligence. Ripley can go and go, but is also an excellent cuddle bug.
- Does your doodle(s) shed?
- Nope!
- Who grooms your doodle(s)?
- I do! :-) Ripley loves the bath and will jump right in. He also loves the blow dryer so much that as soon as I turn it on to dry my own hair, he jumps up on the bed and barks at me to "dry" him, too.
- Favorite Doodle Products?
- Ripley loves everything, even if it's not made for doodles. My home is completely Ripley-proof. He seems to think that one of his missions in life, is stealing things and playing keep-away. Before I realized his affinity for all things non-edible, Ripley actually ate one of my large cloth scrunchies. He loves playing ball, so his mini tennis balls are a fave approved product. He also loves his big floating cloth toy, and his rope ball.
