Welcome, Heidi & Charlie Doodle!

Profile Information

About Me:
This is our first adventure with a goldendoodle puppy -- we're a family of five -- us parents, a 14-year-old boy, and 10-year-old boy-girl twins!
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
Charlie, a F1 Standard Goldendoodle, joined our family on March 8, 2014 as an 8-week-old puppy. His mom is a reddish golden retriever, and his dad is an apricot-colored standard poodle.
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
We were looking for an active dog to run and play with, and one that would shed less than a standard golden retriever -- good disposition, loyal, trainable.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Snuggle with him when he's not trying to chomp on me, take him for walks, play fetch with him, and watch him play with empty plastic water bottles filled with dog treats. :)
Does your doodle(s) shed?
Yes!
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
Not there yet...he's 18 weeks old today.
Favorite Doodle Products?
We love the twisted and curly bully sticks for puppy teething!

Having trouble loading a photo of Winston at this age.  Not an expert but your doodle looks like an F1 (same as Winston)  straighter hair that will get a little wavy and longer as he gets older.  Somewhere around 8-10 months.   You will experience some light to moderate shedding and his color may start to change.  Winston was a light reddish blonde and is now a darker red with blonde highlights as you can see from his photo.  Good thing is that we don't have to brush him as often as a curly doodle.  Our neighbor has a curly doodle and mentioned the problems with his hair getting tangled.  We rarely have any hair tangles with Winston other than an occasional hair ball under the leg areas.

Hi Heidi, he looks so much like our Winston did as a pup.  As I may have mentioned we were worried if Winston would start to look like Goldendoodles with the long hair.  Then one day we ran into several Doodle owners at a local PetsMart and they assured us his looks would start change between the 8 and 10 month period.  And he did and continues to change.
