What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
Female Labradoodle, "Islay" (pronounced "Eye-la)
She`ll be nine in June; terrific pooch but for recurring intestinal issues; had not been socialized as a puppy (five months old when we got her) and as a result, extremely timid with everyone but the two of us. Loves other dogs.
The intestinal issues are a real problem; invariably present with "borborygmi" (LOUD stomach growling), refusal to eat, sometimes "posturing" indicating painful gas and occasional bloody loose stool We`ve used "anti-gas" pills, "stomach coating"
medicine and have experimented with various foods.
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
Our prior dogs were an eighteen year old Husky/wolf hybrid (a real sweetie pie anyway) and a thirteen year old German Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix. The two of them shed enough to build a new dog every few days so, after they died we were determined to get a non-shedder; thus the Labradoodle. (She sheds anyway......)
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Islay is very entertaining, funny, intelligent; a great companion. She`s a super "frisbee dog"; very athletic. She is walked daily. loves swimming; slowing down a bit but still a game old gal.
Welcome! This is a great place to learn/share about doodles. There are many groups that you can join. For example, there are groups for grooming, nutrition, health/medical, types of doodles, puppy groups etc. Look at the top of your page and click on Groups - check them out. Enjoy!
Your pictures are great and I especially like the one of her on the couch and it looks like she has the Frisbee thing down pat! Libby loves to play fetch indoors, but when we go outside she will not bring it back to us. We have some training to do on that one! She can be very stubborn at times:) If you go to the groups and select one, then at the top of the page is a "join this group". Just select that and you are then a member of that group and you can ask questions and get into the discussions. The groups are really helpful!
Welcome to Doodle Kisses! Enjoy this wonderful site with great information and everyone is very helpful and supportive! Check out the groups and discussions, they are amazing and lots of fun too! Islay is sooooo cute and I love her little pink bow:) We love pictures here, so post as many as you like! Nice to have you on DK!
