Thanks for the add! Foxy is adorable, I love her cute rosey nose! :)
I'm having problems with chronic fatigue at the moment, but when I get some of my energy back I'd love to meet up! (I'm seeing a new doc so I'm hopeful.) We're in Los Altos so we're close by! :)
Oh and as far as the doggie lifejackets- I would recommend using one if you aren't going in the water with Foxy. Both of my doods struggled with swimming the first time they tried. They paddled with their front legs, but not the back legs, and they started sinking. (They weren't wearing lifejackets.) So we had to hold up their bums and help them out. I'm hoping to teach them to swim without lifejackets, but right now Cricket tries to climb on my head whenever I'm in the pool with her, and she scratches me with her nails. Ouch! So for now we're using the lifejacket. :)
Most of the dogs on Carmel Beach are spayed and neutered, but that doesn't mean they aren't in for a little "fun". I would definitely keep her on leash and see how the other dogs react to her. That may be difficult with all the other dogs off leash and romping. What does her owner say? I take it you are not planning to breed her now. The other thing (that I used with my female airedale when she was in heat) is to give her some breath medications. It is supposed to take away bad breath for dogs, but also takes away the scent for heat. Don't know - but it worked 20 years ago.
You are practically a neighbor and we haven't even met. I am having a doodle romp for Hondo's birthday on Carmel Beach on May 24. Some people couldn't come that day, so we are having another doodle romp on May 16. Please come down if you can make either of those days.
