We have a new and exciting event coming July 26th, from 1-4 to celebrate our recent jump to 100 members!
We will be having a BBQ/Picnic and a lake for the doodles to go swimming at The Dude Ranch in Glen Allen. Please check out the discussion on the group page entitled "Party Time" and respond there if you plan to attend so I can get a doodle head count for the facility.

At 10:12pm on May 23, 2009, Kay and Roman said…: I sent Teresa an update on Roman yesterday and mentioned that we'd connected on DK. She said Juni had a broken leg!! Hope she's doing OK. Reminded me of my calamity with Roman about three weeks ago. He's my little shadow and somehow we got tangled up and I landed on the poor little guy. I thought for sure I'd damaged him for life!! The vet checked him over pretty thoroughly and didn't find any problems, thankfully, but said he'd be sore for a few days and to watch for signs of problems. He's doing fine now, but I felt so awful about it. What a klutz!! My husband jokes that Roman moves pretty quick now when he sees a shadow overhead.

At 7:07am on April 28, 2009, Kay and Roman said…: Hi Leesoul--I was hoping to connect with the "people" of Roman's brothers and sisters. Which little girl did you bring home? We've been having a lot of fun with our little guy, too. He's a pretty smart boy, hopefully, not smarter than us!! We are trying the clicker training approach, but I'm learning while doing, so I hope I'm not promoting bad behaviors with the clicker. We're working on sit, down, stand, off, shake, and come. Still have a long way to go, but it's a start. He knows his sit really well.

How funny...we gave Roman his first bath last night, too. He wasn't so sure about it, but the Touch of Mink that Teresa gave us was wonderful, and his coat felt so nice after he dried. We haven't cut his nails, yet, but plan to do that this week, one paw each night. I'm afraid to do it, too, and hope that my hubby will take over that job!

How much does your pup weigh? Roman is over 10 pounds already!! We were hoping that he would be about 45 pounds when full grown, but the vet thinks he'll be bigger. He said we could tell more when he reaches 4 months. Guess we'll see. We'll love him whatever he weighs!

Keep in touch. Maybe we can start a Tuscan Ridge group sometime!
