I am 56 years old. I have been a dog lover all of my life. I have had several different breeds of dogs in my life, I always have had to have a least one dog and sometimes I have had two at a time. I work from home and they are a big part of my life. I need and love their companionship. They have all truly been a part of my family.
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
I have a Golden Doodle named Winston. He is the first Golden Doodle that I have had. He is an F1. The mother was a poodle and the father was a golden retriever. He is 110 lbs of love, fun and affection. He is the best dog I have ever had. He has such a good personality. We did have a Flat Coat Retriever that we lost earlier this year. Debated on getting another Golden Doodle but Winston is so affectionate that he seems very jealous when another dog comes around. We are content having one at this time.
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Pet store
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
I had heard about how wonderful these animals are. We just happened into a pet store one day and there he was. It was instant bond between the two of us. I just had to have him. He was quite ornery and into everything as a pup. Now he is still mischievous but it is all in fun now. He purpose grabs things that he knows he is not supposed to have and brings it in front of us. He loves us to come after him. He is a hoot!
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
I love cuddling with him on the couch, in front of the TV. I love playing with him inside and outside. I love taking him for walks and rides in the car. He is so focused on his toys and his humans.
Does your doodle(s) shed?
A little bit but nothing major
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
Petco
Favorite Doodle Products?
Just found this sight. Haven't really tried any of the products.
Hi Lisa ~ cute photo of Winston and your new addition. Our first doodle (Charlie Brown) was about 1.5 when we brought Beau home. We took Charlie with us to pick up Beau and he was not happy about that little thing sitting in he back seat with me. Charlie road shotgun all the way home (3.5 hrs) with his head on the console looking in the backseat at that sleeping puppy. We had spoiled Charlie and he wanted to be the only doggy and he was not happy to share us, or his toys, with the new brother. It took him nearly 2 months to really accept the fact that he had a brother. They are buddies now - Charlie is 4.5 and Beau 2.5. How is Winston reacting to his new brother? When you get a chance be sure to check out the groups section on the main page and join as many as you like. There is a group for multiple doodle owners, and about 300 other groups so certainly something for everyone. Welcome to Doodle Kisses!
