Hi Liz!! Yes, Birdie was the runt of the litter, and I am very happy that we went with her. My situation was a little different because I had first pick of the females, but I only saw photos until we went up to bring one home. In the photos, I liked the other 2 females better, but I couldn't believe how much bigger they were than Birdie!! They were quite heavy already. At that point, I couldn't see any difference other than that. She was so much lighter to pick up though, more light poodle boned than big golden retriever boned. Birdie's coat was a different color, but just as soft and fluffy as the others. The breeder didn't mention any developmental delay, and I didn't notice anything. Birdie has actually been super healthy. I have not had any problems with her whatsoever. A friend that I have here on DK that lives back East had to go to the vet every other week or so with her pup, but I only went for the shots and spay. It might vary from litter of course, and your runt might not be just like my Birdie, but we are very glad we picked her. She grew to still be quite large and I can't imagine having one bigger!!;) I hope this helps and I answered all your questions.
Hi Liz ~ Looking forward to seeing photos of your puppy when it arrives! When you get a chance be sure to check out the groups section on the main page and join as many as you like. Welcome to Doodle Kisses!
Yay!! I think you will be so happy with your pup! Mine was a Gizelle and Jack pup too.:) The first couple of weeks was hard, but they are such smart dogs and it didn't take too long for Birdie to be housebroken. Please feel free to message me if you have questions or need advice. I messaged another gal on this site almost daily when I brought Birdie home. :) When will you be bringing her home?

Welcome Liz!! I am excited for you to get a goldendoodle. We love our Birdie and think she is the best dog we have ever had.
