We are first time puppy owners. After months of research it became apparent that the goldendoodle was the perfect dog for our family! We have 2 children, ages 4 and 7 who are absolutely in love with our new puppy after only 1 day!
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
We have a minature Goldendoodle. His name is Bailey and he joined our family on August 2, 2012. In just 2 days we have determined that he is, of course, the smartest dog on the planet! He has adjusted so very well to his new enviornment, we couldn't ask for anything more! We are looking forward to watching him grow up with our children!
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
We were looking for a very specific dog. We needed something low shedding, not too big but not too small, energetic but not hyper. Our children have grown a bit timid around dogs, so we wanted to add one to our family that would not overwhelm them.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
As of today, we've only had him 2 days, but so far chase and hide and seek seem to be favorites. He also enjoys rides in the car (a trait we are hoping to focus on)!
Relationship Status:
Married
Would you be willing to Dog Sit on occasion for other DoodleKisses members? (You are NOT committing to anything by saying yes - you are just saying you might be willing to do this if you were acquainted with the other member and the circumstances were right.)
Yes

Thank you all for such a warm welcome! We have had Bailey for 4 days and we continue to be astounded at how quickly he is adapting and learning new things. He has clicked into puppy mode now, so we are beginning to see all the things he is going to get into! Our latest amusement is bell training. We would like to train him to ring a bell when he wants to go out. We introduced it yesterday afternoon and this morning his has used it multiple times to ask out! Now, part of that has been him working us. He likes to be out in the morning because it's cooler, but it's SO humid here today we keep trying to get him to come inside. When we bring him in, he waits about 2 minutes and rings the bell to go back out. A fun game for him, but I'm ready for a second shower already! Hopefully, this will translate in a well housebroken puppy one day!
