Doodles are awesome - I've had dogs my whole life but there is something about these dogs! My cousin is Gail Rifflard - she lives on Redwood lane. There is also a REALLY good dog trainer in Ringwood, Norine Twaddel. Do you know her? I don't know the name of the park - Its huge - walk up to a lake - and then round the lake. $48.00 is very fair for a cut, I just may give her a try - I don't get Koji groomed all that often - do a lot of it myself - but it is hard to shampoo him in a tub, he has gotten sooo tall. Who knew? I got my Tibetan from Massachusetts, butthere is a very good Tibetan Terier breeder in Ringwood - Valerie Barber - wonder if that is where your friend got her TT?
Hi Lynne: Welcome you ar ein my area - i am in Waldwick and go to Ringwood to visit my cousin - and go to the park on Skyline Drive. We should meet there some time. WHO is the fabulous groomer in your town? How much does she charge and does she scissor cut, if requested?
I think I need to walk Annie a little more. It has been so cold and our other dog-Minnie is a lab/mix and she had a full hip replacement in Aug. so our walks were shortened and not as often. Now that the weather is a little nicer and Minnie is doing so well we may go for longer walks. Annie was a picky eater but she seems to really like "Newmans Own" and they also both let me know when it is around 4:00pm. I think that I give them too many "dingo" bones, the kind of rawhide with red "meat" in the middle. Both my dogs love them and I find myself loving to give them one after dinner when I sit down after doing dishes. That is our unwinding time. Thanks for letting me know about Fletcher. They seem very similar. I love how your groomer cuts his hair! I try to do Annie because I am afraid that someone might cut her weird. Also she has never been to a kennel like place, whenever we leave town we have a pet sitter stay with all of our pets. I was somewhat considering having a mobile groomer come and do her in her mobile pet salon. I am not sure. Tomorrow is supposed to be warm so I might cut and bathe her then. Nice chatting with you, I love your antiques and lace I see in the background shots. I also love antiques. It would be interesting to see the profile of a typical doodle lover and if we also have similar traits. Talk with you soon. Fondly,
Meg (and Annie)
I think Fletcher and Annie are just bigger dogs (than my sister-in-laws doodles, Radar is their daddy too) What type food (brand) do you feed Fletcher and does he get chew bones to eat for a treat every now and then? How much do you feed him and how often? I would like Annie to loose about 5-8 lbs. Thanks.
Yes, I remember. We are all doing well. Annie topped out over 50lbs. How are you guys doing? Is Fletcher as big? Annie's half siblings weigh in the high 20's. Annie is just big boned.
HI Lynne - my name is Kate and my doodle is Maci and we live in Pompton Plains, NJ (we're practically neighbors). First welcome to Doodle Kisses - this is a great site. Second, I would like to invite you to join the group I created on this site called 'Jersey Doodles". I created the group so that other doodlers could locate/connect with other doodles in their area. Back in early November a bunch of us got together down at Sandy Hook for a little romp on the beach with about 12 doodles - a good time was had by all. So please join Jersey Doodles so you don't miss out on any of the fun.
