We are romping at Camp Algonquin, 1889 Cary Road, Algonquin.
When you pull into camp, veer to the right, pass the grey cape cod and continue up the drive till you get to a parking lot and a dark brown house. The field is behind my house.
My number is 847 370 9595 if you are lost. We are potlucking it too, so bring a dish and come hungry.

I haven't been on my page for a long time. To answer your question about the nail trimmers with a light....they don't work. I bought one for $70 and had to return it. It cost me $20 postage to return it, so I was choked. What is available is a tape that you stick on the nail and the quick part glows. You could use them a few times until you get a feel for where the quick is. I haven't tried them so I cannot tell you if they work well.

Yes, it was a very brief meeting....I do believe the Mallard Lake Dog Park has been closed to make way for a new road.....the Bartlett on is very small from what I can see (just a couple of fenced in areas) and it doesn't open until the end of June.....it requires a pass and I don't know if it will have day passes.....but there is a dog park in Glendale Heights on Swift Road called East Branch that is supposed to be good and I believe it has day passes....I will check into it....it would be great to get the dogs together....there is also one on Army Trail Road...I will investigate and let you know......keep in touch....

Is Mallard Lake the dog park you are talking about?.....We live in the Cook County part of Bartlett and would have to pay out of district fees to be off leash...Bartlett is opening a small dog park called "Riley's Run" the end of June....looking forward to seeing you at the doodle romp.....

It starts at 10, and everyone hangs out in the main field for quite awhile before heading off to the trails. I'm going to get there late, because jack doesn't really care about the other dogs, and he gets too tired out playing ball by the time the walk starts. But if you want to socialize & meet other doodles & people, definitely get there close to 10. You can contact Joan (the girl who posted the romp below our comments in the IL group) for the best info.

Marion - It would also be appropriate for you to contact the breeder and let them know about Abby's recent episode. A good breeder would want to know so they an try to determine if it is genetic.

Abby is just darling and has a beautiful coat, but it sounds like you may want a shorter cut for her comfort in the summer and for a little relaxation for you. Our Groucho Too is a F1b and has a very curly coat, but we keep it a medium length and try to never get matts started. The good news - he loves one-on-one time and will stand forever for grooming. I think if you cut her puppy coat the adult coat will be more manageable and less matts. Puppy hair is softer and that may be contributing to your problems. Good luck.

There are more people joining the Paw Pad Group, so I hope to see all the puppies at the romp as well. Your Abby is adorable, of course she would have to be because my daughter's name is Abby as well.
