I am retired. We live in Lake Las Vegas, Henderson, Nevada. I am very active. I enjoy training and playing with our new doodle. I also like to cook and bake.
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
We have an F1B golden doodle. Her name is Mackenzie. She is 1 year old.
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
We've had 4 golden retrievers that have all died at different ages from cancer. The heartbreak in losing them is overwhelming. We decided on a golden doodle because there is still golden retriever in the mix and the intelligence and playfulness of the standard poodle.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Walk, jog, brush her, play with her, take her to puppy training, train her throughout the day.
Does your doodle(s) shed?
Nope!
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
A groomer who left PetSmart to start her own business.

Yes, Leo he is a Teddy Bear doodle! I'm curious to see how big he will get as an F1. Your doodle is gorgeous. I will definitely check if there is a chapter nearby! Thanks for the welcome!
Hi! just wanted to send a "get well" out to little Mackenzie. Hope she's doing well. By the way, did you receive the calendar? I hope you're enjoying it! Look forward to the next romp - hope to see you soon. - Sherri
That worked Pam, just double click on the picture in the last private message I sent through DK and then save as to your computer. It will save the pictures full size as it was sent.
HI!!! I'm finally getting around to checking in on DK !! It was so nice to meet you at the pool party! Mackenzie is adorable! Reminds me of Ginger when she was a puppy. I'm enjoying your pictures! Hope to see you at a romp soon - Sherri
Hey sorry it took so long to respond I didn't know I had messages.
Winston's stool still goes soft at times and others it goes regular. I think it might be because he now has gotten into baby formula a couple times and the trash. For the most part he is regular, we are always keeping an eye on it.
Winston's crate training is difficult at times. He has had 2 accidents in it which stinks figuratively and literally. He has pushed his crate across the wood floor a couple times also, but I think he is getting more and more used to it as time goes on.
Now we just need to get his jumping under control. My friend who is a trainer says to use a "choke collar" and give a tug like a mother would do to him when he misbehaves but it doesn't seem to be working. I have also heard turning away when they jump on you or a knee to the chest. We are trying not to use force on him though and hope that a stern voice will work.
He is still scared of people even though we have him around people all the time. Also have taken him to my dads house a couple times to try and get him more used to being around other dogs which he is scared of.
Winston is still amazing with the wife and baby which I am most grateful for. He also got a haircut which looks wonderful and we think he likes not having the long hair while it is so hot outside.
Again it will not let me message-
Well good news she got back to me today, I told her this is the last shot to adopt her dog Bentley. I am supposed to meet up with her tomorrow (Tuesday) at 6-6:30pm. If she does not get back to me, as sad as I will be to not be able to get Bentley we have lined up getting a girl 9wk old doodle from a craigslist add for 400 dollars.
Yea 1200 is a little much for us, due to still paying off hospital bills, (I was in the hospital for 1 month at the beginning of the year), baby was born, and then I will be buying and officially proposing to my wife in the next coming months.
I spoke with Jo a local breeder and she has some black doodles for 450 to bad my wife isn't to keene on black ones. Also spoke with Teresa about her waiting list for doodles for 600 that will be born in June.
I have no clue why it will not let me message you back-
I wish I knew. For the second time after speaking with the owner about adopting him, we agreed to adopt him on Tuesday, then she said she took him to the vet on Thursday and was doing a second opinion on Friday? But have not heard anything back from her since. No updates, no calls, no text messages. She agreed to let us adopt him but has now blown us off 2x in 1 week.
I am now in the process with my wife of looking for another doodle to adopt, or possibly buy. Know of any? Or a decently priced breeder? I spoke with Jo- the breeder in town and she has a black one for 450, but my wife isn't fond of the black doodles unfortunately, and her tan one she wants 950 for. I also have been speaking with Tereasa out of Arizona (about 2hrs away) that will be having a litter in June.
It sucks because I really like Bentley (the dog) and think he would be a perfect fit for our family but for the owner to keep blowing us off it makes me feel as if she really does not appreciate or care about the fact that we would really like to adopt him.
She says she has to be gone by the 20th of May, which is on Monday- my problem is I have a very busy work weekend. So even if she does contact me (last minute which I will not appreciate very much) I cannot guarantee that I would be able to meet up with her in time to get him.
It's a hassle and really sucks, my wife and I are bummed that the owner is acting this way.
