I'm a dog trainer in Alabama. I have a labradoodle named "Charlie" that is my helper when I teach. He's also a certified "Canine Good Citizen" dog and visits nursing homes weekly. I have many doodles in my classes and love to work with them. If I can help answer training questions or offer any advice, I'll be more than happy to help. My methods are based on many of Cesar Millan's techniques (the dog whisperer). I've been honored to have had the opportunity to meet with him and he's taught me so much. I look forward to getting to know some of you!
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
Charlie is a chocolate Labradoodle. I also have two more dogs, a German flatcoat retriever and a mixed chow. Both rescues. I also have 3 cats.
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
I wanted to understand their temperament and learning ability in order to teach them better. There are so many "designer breeds" out there and I chose the doodle because I love the way they look.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Hike, wrestle, snuggle
Does your doodle(s) shed?
Nope!
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
I take him to a groomer close to my house, she does an awsome job.
Favorite Doodle Products?
Flint River Ranch food
Tug toys
Porcupine brushes

Hi there,

Hi Paula,
I to have a Charlie (GD) and was born in Alabama!
I was wondering if you could help me out. I post this morning about
teaching Charlie to count. If you read my post you will see it is a request by one of Charlies reading buddies. Thanks!
Hi Paula,
wanted to thank you again for your reply to my "food aggression" puppy dilemma. I appreciate that the tips are doable for me and you really made me confident that it can be overcome. I was a bit worried there.
Can't believe you've met Cesar Millan, what a great thing! He makes dog training seem so simple, as long as you put the time in.
Thank you again for the encouraging advice!
Paula...I have an idea for you. Why dont you pick a time when you can be available in chat--and then post an announcement in the forum about the fact you are a trainer, your philosophy and that you will be available to chat about issues at such and such a time. Maybe offer a couple times and then people will know to expect you and plan for questions... What do you think?
Thank you all for the welcomes to "doodlekisses". I wanted to add that if any of you have behavior issues or would like advice on training, I'll be more than happy to share. My techniques are based a lot on Cesar Millan's techniques (the dog whisperer) if that gives you an idea of where I'm coming from. I've found that doodles are pretty easy to train, but a bit stubborn in some areas lol. Smart and very devoted though. Let me know if I can help. Paula
