I have been lurking for months and love this site!  I am hoping for some encouragement--we have a 5 month old F1b Goldendoodle named Elsa (yes, we have granddaughters) who has short golden brown…Continue

About Me:
I live in Illinois and have recently retired. I love to read, walk, and have a wonderful herb garden. I have begun my new 'career' as a Hospice volunteer, and it is my goal to train Elsa to go with me.
Raising Elsa has been a challenge, but we love her and each week gets better!

Good morning Peggy, thanks for all of those kind words :) I think doing hospice visits is a wonderful idea! When I was much younger, we had a sheltie that was part of the "Pets on Wheels" program in Baltimore and we would take him around to visit patients in nursing homes and it always made them so happy. The memories of it make me smile even now.

Tucker is a really good boy and doodles are really smart dogs but I can see a bit of a stubborn streak in him and can forsee some "trouble" in the near future.  I think they are very much like children and I always said that God makes you fall in love with your children in those first 2 years so that you can deal with everything that they give you in the next 20! I think the same is true with puppies except in an accelerated time frame! HAHA

I hope you have a wonderful day and give your Elsa a "treat" from Tucker and I. :)

Thanks Peggy and Abi adores him. We are beginning obedience training this weekend privately at our home as he is not fully vaccinated yet and he will be ready for puppy school in September. He has certainly caught on quickly to what we have taught him already so I hope this goes as well as everything else is. As far as the nipping thing he does do that! I find the best distraction is a toy (he  loves animal ones) but I also use the compressed air thing that comes in a red can; it startles him enough to make him stop and then I give him a sit or paw command and give him a treat for the good behavior. It seems to work but he is still young! I'll just take very good thing I get! LOL

Take care and your puppies are adorable!
