About Me:: College English instructor and grandmother in central Iowa. Became interested in doodles of all kinds after seeing one visit my granddaughter's school on a golden fall day, a day as golden as the doodle itself.

What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!: I have a 6-year-old healthy cocker spaniel at present -- 17.7 lbs. -- a chocolate/white parti-color. Docile demeanor. A loving dog who survived back surgery at age 4 in 2007 after she suddenly manifested disc trouble. She has since regained her health and strength. Her rehab was quite a labor of love.

I will probably pine for a doodle for a good long while, as I'm not sure I could handle two canines -- and even a mini-doodle might be too much dog for me or my cocker Carmella. But I'd like to know of others' experiences. I had a previous cocker (Blondie -- my first dog) who lived for 16 years from 1986-2002. I never knew what a dog really was until I had one, and now I can't imagine life without a dog in it.

Sure seems like doodle people are happy with their pooches. My dog likes me to scratch her lower back, but she doesn't like physical contact otherwise. My vet calls this phenomenon "cattitude" -- and so I'm jealous of doodle owners who are cuddling even their grown doodles, riding with them on bikes and boats, and making them (seemingly) human surrogates. More than ever before, dogs seem to be fulfilling a much more intimate role in some owners' lives.

I've loved my exploration of the doodle sites I've located. I hope to keep on learning.
