What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
Our Jaxson is a miniature Multigenerational Australian Labradoodle from Manor Lake Labradoodles. He is from the Soupy/Abby litter, born on 7-21-2012.
We adopted Petunia in Mid April, 2013. She is a retired Breeding female from Manor Lake and was born on 8-8-2008.
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
We love their smart, loving, funny personalities! The non-shedding, wavy fleece coat is just a bonus!
I hope you find Jaxson's litter mates some day, I know I always wonder what Oliver's siblings look like all grown up! So far we haven't had any luck either. Also, I think most of Oliver's siblings were shipped to their new homes. I never got to meet the others in the litter because when we picked Oliver up Kim said that the others in the litter were at the vet getting their flight health clearances.
Oliver has very soft fur, most people are stunned when they pet him. However, on his back he has a few (probably 50 total) white coarse hairs that are mixed randomly with his otherwise very soft apricot fur! It sounds like he inherited that from his mother, how funny! It's really amazing to hear about their similarities!
Someday if you're ever in Seattle with your doodles, and you want to meet up, let us know. It would be fun to see them together!
I wish I had current photos of Oliver's litter (or knew where his siblings were), but I only have the last set of photos that Kim sent of the complete litter before selection. Have you been able to find any of Jaxson’s litter mates?
The photo below is of all of the puppies at about seven weeks (girls in the top row and boys in the bottom row--Oliver is the second from the left). And of course give Petunia hugs from Oliver! He cried every night for a week after leaving her (it was so tragic we got rid of the crate). :)
Thank you for reaching out to me! It really is amazing how similar in appearance Jaxson and Oliver are. It’s a very unique coloring. We had actually hoped that Oliver would be around 20-25lbs but we fell in love with the biggest one in the litter!
It’s so much fun finding your puppy’s family, and after my parents tried to adopt Petunia I wondered where she had gone. When we picked out Oliver Kim told me that Petunia was a very sweet dog and a wonderful mother. I’m sure the transition was tough on her, it’s good to know that she is opening up. Honestly, when I was at Kim’s, there were a lot of dogs at her house. I think it’s for the best that she was adopted to a hope where she could get the attention that she deserves.
Of course I have lots of pictures! I even have some of Oliver’s whole litter before they went to their homes!
Beau's mom is Rivermist Spring and Dad is Puppy Love's Valentine (Cosmo). Charlie's dad is also Cosmo and his mom was Manor Lakes Aero (she is now retired). Charlie looks so much like his mom - very blocky. They are both considered mediums - Charlie weighs 38 lbs and Beau 40. I love them both to no end!
This is great news, it makes my day! When Petunia became available my parents tried to get her but she was already taken. It's wonderful to know that she went to a fabulous DK family! How is Petunia doing?
As a funny tidbit, when we picked Oliver up at Kim's house in late June 2014, pregnant Abbey was playing with Oliver! Oliver actually looks a lot like Jaxson with dark apricot ears, a creamy apricot body, and white hair on the top of the head. You have two very adorable doodles!
Hi Roxie ~ I just noticed you adopted ML Petunia this spring. I think she is so beautiful. I have two ML ALDs. Charlie will be three Dec 18th and Beau is just 1 yr 2 months. They have the same father, but different mothers. Did Petunia adjust quickly? I bet Jaxson likes having someone to play with. Charlie Brown was not happy that we brought a 2nd into the family ( he was so darn spoiled), but he has adjusted (but it took him a while), but I think he would miss Beau if he was not here! It took me a while to adjust to two also as I really did not know what to expect having two dogs! LOL Now, I am good with it!
NOOOO... I can't browse through puppies... I'll want one. LOL Actually, I will look at the site, I love to check out the doodles and the puppies.
Hmmm..... why do we think Clancy is a goldendoodle? His eyes have a bit more of the rounder shape, his tail is more like a golden's. He has soft fur in places and coarse in others - mostly the 'red' is coarse. This is on his back and tail. His head is broader. Most often when we see 'look-alikes' they are goldendoodles. Clancy is quite short though (only 2 inches taller than Ned), but has such a strong bone structure that weighing 62 - 63 pounds is appropriate for him. One of these days we might do the genetic testing because it would be interesting to really know what he is, but it isn't very far up on our priority list.
Thanks for the friend request. Jaxon is probably pretty much done growing. The smaller doods seem to be done by 6- 8 months. I LOVE his coat. Ned is our curly one - he is the Australian Labradoodle. Clancy is our rescue that was listed as a labradoodle but we really think he is a goldendoodle. Ned doesn't shed except when he is brushed you get these little pin knots and when we launder our clothes, some of them have little knots of hair. Clancy, on the other hand, has a beautiful looking wavy coat but he sheds a LOT. His coat is part really soft and part coarse. I want my next doodle to be a combination of them - non-shedding, waves - like Jaxon's.
Two dogs really is lots of fun. Jaxon is an especially cute guy. How big is he now? I found that the small doodles are pretty much done growing before by months. Technically miniatures are up to 16" tall. Ned, our small doodle, grew a bit bigger than his parents and technically out of miniature range. He is 17" tall and 27 pounds. Ned's coat is so thick and stands up so much that he looks much bigger. Jaxon's coat looks wonderful - more like I wish Ned's was.

The picture below is of Oliver a month ago, I'll send you some additional pictures of Oliver when I get home!
