Hi Guys and Fiona
Thinking of you and wondering how you were all doing especially the Doodle of course!
Dandy and Rocky are growing and happy and quite obedient still.
We'll see what happens when they get running free at the cottage when the weather warms up enough to go there; if that ever transpires. My sister (from Paris) is coming up here for Easter and is transporting a Yorkiepoo puppy from
SA in Stratford to a freind of mine. She searched and searched for a small breed dog in the Humane Societies around here to adopt but could not find one. She lives on the ground floor of an apt building and is a very petite person. She needs a very small dog.
I will be going to stay in Paris for 3 weeks in June while A.M. is in Europe so hopefully I can take my pups to a romp near there if there is one scheduled because there sure are none up here. I'm pressed to find even a few more Doodle owners in this town to join this site. A few more, even one more! not lol
I told one young girl at my Wednesday evening obedience class, but I don't see that she's joined us yet. Actually I'm in two classes; 7-8 with Dandy then I run outside and throw him in my vehicle in a crate (the large plastic kind) because I don't trust them alone for an hour not to chew and/or wreck anything and run in literally RUN with Rocky from 8-9. It sounded like a good idea at the time when I signed up! I felt that they needed the socialization in class with other dogs and following commands in a group WITHOUT each other there. And for that purpose it serves. However, I have taken one on one Clicker Classes with our older (3 1/2) female Bouvier just last Sept. and they are much more effective. The dogs learn much quicker using the Clicker method. So I am going to complete the last two lessons but I am also going to begin the DK clicker Training as soon as that's over and catch up because I will be able to teach them so much more and much faster than the traditional method.
And I'll say this if you aren't taking advantage of this clicker course with DK you really should be because already I can see that the way these people from Holland teach it.....far simpler ...easier for handler and dog. I'm very impressed! I'd like to tell Adina that but I always feel foolish making some of my comments. I have read the Karen Pryor books so I do kow quite alot about it. And I paid $75 per 2 hour private lesson of which I had 4. Certainly not bragging about that. That was a terrible expense and compared to the DK course from the "Holland" teachers not nearly as worth it. They haven't actually said what we will have to pay minus the coupons that Adina was referring to but it will likely work out to be about $50 Cdn and well worth it to say the least
If you've already done Clicker Training then you know what I'm talking about. It's such an incredibly quicker training method than any other. Hope all is great with your Fiona

Hello Ryan Thelma and Fiona
I just saw your ? on the Canadian Doodles site and am answering it here. No. But my 4 month Standard Poodle Rocky is from there on Dec. 28 2008 a Birthday gift from my sister who lives in Paris ON. Fiona is very cute and appears to be very long legged too How old is she. Have you looked at their site lately...they sure have alot of Goldendoodles on there and being sold almost immediately.
