Toby is our joyous mini-Labradoodle. We adopted him from Animal Friends Rescue Project in May of 08. He's about 1 yr and 4 mos old and quite a character.
Toby's story is a sad one. Evidently he was gotten from a breeder by a family for their children. The children were supposed to take care of him. When they didn't, the parents put Toby in a shelter "to teach them a lesson". Eventually they got him out/ After a relatively short time, the family moved. They didn't take Toby though. They put him back in a shelter. It was there that Animal Friends Rescue Project found him. I spotted Toby on their website and immediately put in an application for him. A week or so later I had a phone call asking if I'd like to meet him. I immediately jumped at the opportunity and the rest is history. Toby is living here and is quite pampered. He and his little playmate Missy, out Bearded Collie puppy romp through the days playing, wrestling, and just being their happy-go-lucky selves.
His new sister is an 8 week Bearded Collie named Missy (M is for mischief).

Hi Steve:
Would also like to invite you to join our "Rescue Doodles" group. You can share Toby's story there, and post his picture on the "faces of rescue" board...who could ever believe a face like that could be found in a shelter! I'd also like to hear about Missy...I think beardies are the cutest dogs in the world.
