About Me:: We've always had a dog, a cat, sometimes 2, and when our Golden Retriver died of cancer (at age 10) we had little Charlie Brown, half Maltese/half Yorkie and one cat, Eloise. Our 4 children are grown and gone and we had enough to take care of here, BUT...

What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!: Goldendoodle. A rescue friend called me and said there was a young couple who lived in Cordova, TN who had bred their first littler of Goldendoodles; 7 healthy ones and one who had "puppy strangles" and might have to be put to sleep. I went out and looked at 3 mo. old puppy, left town the next day for family vacation, returned week later and drove out and (he looked much better this time) got him! My vet explained that puppies born with this disease respond beautifully to early intervention steroid treatment (when antibiotics have failed) and this was what he was on when I got him. He is now, and has been since 5-6 months, perfectly normal. He's 3 years old.

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?: This was a puppy (see above) bred and rescued, so both boxes checked would apply. I did love his looks and what I'd read about doodles, but truly got him because young owners couldn't manage what might be ahead, medical treatment, etc.

Who grooms your doodle(s)?: Goin to the Dogs. Sarah Smith owns this mobile grooming unit that comes to our house. She is extremely professional and seems to have all needed tools in her mobile van.
