About Me:

I adore dogs. My parents had Brittany Spaniels while I was growing up. Then, as an adult, I had a Wheaten Terrier who was just a sweetie pie. I lost him just two months before his 14th birthday. I swore I was going to just pet other people's dogs because my heart nearly exploded the day I lost my Wheatie. But alas, I missed having a dog so much that I investigated Labradoodles. Life without a dog is not worth living.

What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!

I have a Labradoodle named Beau. He celebrated his 1/2 birthday this week. He is black, but his coat is starting to fade to silver. He came from a litter of 14! He is full of energy, completing a beginner dog class and currently is my personal trainer.

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?

A family member has allergies and had no problems with the Wheaten Terrier. However, I felt I could not have another Wheatie as I would be always thinking of my Teddy. So I visited with a Labradoodle breeder and met her dogs and decided to adopt a puppy from her after she encouraged the family member to socialize with the puppies so see how they affected her allergies. We found a puppy that really does not exacerbate the allergies.

What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?

Walks, romping in the back yard and we are thinking about obedience training or looking into therapy dog training.
