Hi everyone. I am very curious about something. As my little Miss Ivy was a rescue, I know virtually nothing about her parents, other than that they are labradoodles. Neither of them were lab or…Continue

About Me:
So excited to say that I have my very first doodle. I have owned dogs for most of my adult life, from Yorkies to Labs.
I am a very committed dog mama, and a stay at home mama to my dogs. The dogs that have been in my life over the years have been my very best friends and I have loved them all. I do staycations rather than vacations, unless my furkids can come with me. There is nothing I wouldn't do for my kids. They are hardly ever alone.
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
I have a third generation doodle who I consider a rescue. My little girl was born outside in our harsh , cold Canadian with with her brothers, and parents. She and her family had little to no human contact, except for the owner who was at their pen long enough to throw in their meal, which was nothing other than whole raw chicken, feathers and all.
Sadly, we had to lay our 14 year old sweetheart Sierra to rest on January 16 the 2014. Our vet came to our home, and she closed her beautiful eyes for the last time in the comfort of her own home, on her own bed, with her favorite blanket, and head resting in mama's lap. I had my sweetheart cremated, and did not make a decision about another girl until I had Sierra home with me again. In the meantime, our other sweet GSD, Cheyenne, was sad, listless, and even look st interest in eating or going outside. We simply had to do something for all of us.
I had spent days looking online at all sorts of non shedding dogs, but we found our beautiful little Miss Ivy, right under our noses practically. What a blessing. We are all very very happy.
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Rescue
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
As dog hair has been a condiment in our home for many years, I was wanting a dog that wasn't going to drop fur with every step.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Our little Miss Ivy is just four months old. We are still above the knee deep in snow over here in Ontario, Canada, so our favorite things to. do with her are still to be discovered. Yeah! Can't wait to discover new things with her when the snow melts. Can't wait . Miss Ivy will see grass for the first time, and gardens, lots of gardens. Any signs if digging will " have to get nipped in the bud". :-) Lots of trees, lots of squirrels and chipmunks to chase, and birds to bark at too. Getting Miss Ivy used to the car will be very important, so taking her for lots and lots of car rides will be a priority.
Does your doodle(s) shed?
Nope!
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
So far, I, her mama, have been , and will be grooming her. She was an absolute stinky little mess when I brought her home
Favorite Doodle Products?
Haven't really found any yet.

Yeah, doodles are the best, aren't they?

Our Groucho Too was euthanized on February 15 and we also had him cremated.  Now we have two containers of ashes and trying to find the perfect resting place for our boys.  I think it will be near the new fountain we are getting for the backyard.

Oh boy, do you have a similar story to me!  Welcome to this group at DK and I think you will really like it.  My second doodle just passed away and the first died in September of 2010.  My third doodle is having a hard time so I am trying to find him a companion.  We will get another doodle before too long.  I have doodle friends staying at our house now.

Hi Yvonne ~ I was just checking out the main page and saw your post concerning Ivy's eyes.  I hope it is nothing serious - I would think they will be able to do something quite quickly to make her better.  I could not respond to your discussion directly because you started the discussion under Green-eye Doodles.  Unless a someone is a member of green-eye doodles group, they cannot respond directly on your post.  Just a suggestion, if you are hoping to get some feedback on a discussion, just start the discussion directly on the main page.  That way it will be listed down the left side of the main page in a discussion and everyone that comes into the main or forum will see it and respond if they wish.  Also, you can insert your photo directly in the discussion by hitting the button next to the right of "link" that says image when you put your cursor over it and then search your computer for the photo and open it in the discussion.  It takes some getting used to on the site.  Just wanted to say Welcome to Doodle Kisses.

Miss Ivy is adorable, and so is your shepherd. We had to put our German/Australian Shepherd cross to sleep last April. He had DM. We still miss him a lot, but the new puppy brings so much love and joy into our lives every day.

Here is a picture of Chinook.

Yvonne ~ My only suggestion to you is to find the groups tab on the main page and click on it.  There over 300 groups - something for everyone.  There is a book loving group, grooming group,  gardening group, photography group, training group, etc etc.  If you have any questions you can go into the groups section and search for that topic, or also search on the forum page.

I know what you mean about tablets.  I prefer my laptop to the ipad, or phone, but I know lots of others are using tablets and pads.  Just takes some practice.  Hang in there and if you have questions just ask.  Have a great week, Linda

Hi Yvonne ~ I read your bio and I am so sorry your Sienna crossed the Rainbow bridge recently.  We have been in that situation too and Charlie Brown helped heal our hearts.  Your little Ivy is such a doll.  I have enjoyed looking at your photos of her especially the one of her sleeping by the bear. When you get a chance be sure to check out the groups section on the main page and join as many as you like.  Welcome to Doodle Kisses!
