I don't have a doodle but would like to own one. I am actually looking to adopt or rescue one. Please let me know if any come available. If I end up not finding one I will purchase a puppy.
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
At the moment I do not own a pet but have always had golden retrievers. My retriever pass away in May.
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
I love their disposition, the way they look, and how relatively healthy they seem to be.

Hi Linda. I believe there are a couple of areas prospective puppy purchasers need to focus on. The first is a Breeder's Warranty. One needs to have protection in case the unforseen occurs. The second area is parental health testing. Ethical breeders extensively health test their breeding dogs so that their puppies have the best chance of good health. F1s, F1bs, and multigenerational labradoodles have different prices, coats and likelihood of shedding. The temperaments, however, are very similar. Usually, but not always, the closer the puppy is to the original poodle/labradoodle mating the lower the price and the greater the probability of shedding. F1b labradoodles are the offspring of an F1 bred with a poodle to help improve the coat. A multigenerational labradoodle comes from a labradoodle bred to a labradoodle for a number of generations. The belief is that these puppies have a greater tendency to be consistent in coat, conformation, temerament and type; thus, the higher price.
Lastly, I suggest purchasers choose a breeder with whom they feel comforable. Ask lots of questions, find out if the puppies are raised in a kennel or a home, inquire about the negatives of the breed, ask for references and contact them. Best wishes to you.
Welcome Linda. I was saddened to read of the loss of your golden having lost many goldens myself. They never leave your heart. If you decided to purchase a puppy, you will find a number of reputable breeders on this site. Welcome again, nice to have you here.
