What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
Light apricot with caramel highlights australian labradoodle.
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
Raised retrievers with my kids, wanted a similar dog that doesnt shed and wont irritate allergies and would plug-in to our life well. I love that he does not guard food or toys, is friendly to people and dogs.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Love morning runs to the lake and meeting our friends along the way. Buddy loves the grandkids and they love him. We go to soccer games and to the kids houses to visit our grand dog friends. He loves to train and when I retire we hope to do therapy work. He has passed his CGC test and is resilient, funny, loving and very kind.
Does your doodle(s) shed?
Nope!
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
A groomer and me in between.
Favorite Doodle Products?
Short leash for quick jogs around the lake. Detangling comb. Smoked bones. He loves stuffed animals but they dont last long. Agility tunnel.
How are you guys? Elly and I are fine. She is doing well. The summer has been very hot and she is not happy outside. Just today feels a little cooler and she is more active. Is Buddy OK? Hope work is good for you.
Pat
Hi and how are you and Buddy? We are so glad it is warm and we can play outside. Doing a lot of walking and fetch. Elly seems to be more grown up. We continue to work on the jumping on folks. She doesn't matt much now. She got trimmed down last week and seems to feel better.
Are you folks OK? Has Buddy grown much lately? I think Elly is done growing.
Take care and licks from Elly,
Pat
How are you and Buddy? I saw your post and it sounds like Buddy is doing very well. I know what you mean by people encouraging the jumping thing. I don't know what to do about that. I just try to encourage them not to do that, but when they see our beautiful and friendly dogs they just can't help themselves. We are fine. Elly is 36 lbs now. I am going to get her cut again next Monday. There is so much hair and with her coat change I think it is easier now to keep her a little shorter. I don't think she will get cold. She has so much hair.
So how is your grandson? I trust everything went well. Thanksgiving will be a great Holiday for your family. We will have to go through our first major Holiday without our mother. May be difficult, but I will be positive and thank God for the years he let us share.
Love to see pics of Bud. Give him a lick for Elly

We just spent 5 days in Washington DC and left Elly at the Kennel. My goodness is she glad to be home!!! She is so tired too. Didn't you go on a cruise recently? How did Bud do without you?
I haven't had very matts yet. She still is not interested in brushing, but we do it anyway.
I trust you and Bud are OK. They are soon to be 1 year old. I hope Elly will be done growing. She is 35 lbs and very tall. They are so beautiful.
I love the pics of Buddy. He is soooo beautiful. I am certain you are so proud of him. Is he still chewing his toys up? I can't tell if Elly's big girl coat is coming in or not. How do you tell? I just keep brushing and combing. I got this groomng tool from Doodle Country that is supposed to strip, demat, and detangle at the same time. It does remove a lot of hair, but I am concerned to use it too often. I am wondering if it also takes the good hair out as well.

How are you and Buddy? Have you gotten your place to stay closer to your job yet? We are doing fine. Elly is a little rowdy, but I think it is her age. She just will not allow our cat of 10 years to join us. So, at night the cat comes up from the basement and Elly goes to her mud room. I am back to work a few hours a day now and it is going well. Good to be back to a little more normal life. Is Buddy adjusting to your life and job now? Is he getting any of his adult hair? I don't see any from Elly, but I don't know what I am looking for, I guess. It should be about time I would think. We got her cut short last week. She is cooler I think. Of course we haven't had a very hot summer, so she hasn't been too bad. Hope this finds you well.

Elly has played fetch since she was very young and loves it. I meant to say that is about all the exercise she is getting now, because my husband isn't one to walk her very often.
It sounds like you are very busy and Bud is getting lots of distractions. I bet he does miss you a lot. Elly doesn't bark hardly at all. I am glad for that. I hope it continues. Elly likes to jump a lot as well; however, we have had to go a little extreme due to my situation and many people visits. We have used our remote for the collar to keep her off. We only have to show it to her and she sits and waits to be petted now. We never had to correct her only with a tone 1-2 times. I think we won't have to show it to her much more. I didn't like that, but it was out of hand with the jumping.
I am walking unaided now and have been for 2-3 weeks. I finished my ordered course of PT on Wed, see my Dr. 8/14 and then will see what happens. I plan on going back to work in a couple of weeks. I started driving last Mon. Yeh!!!!!!
So good to hear from you, Elly says Hi,
Pat
How are things with you and Buddy? I have started to notice Elly getting a little anxious. I need to get to the point of taking her for a walk, even if it is short. Fetching is not getting it. She gets a little rowdy, but we have had quite a few people in and out so I think that gets her tired. We also take her for rides in the country on our Utility Vehichle (That doesn't look like it is spelled correctly?)
Are you still working? How does Buddy do with you gone? I plan on going back in a couple of weeks. Elly will have to adjust again to long days. I hate that.
Are you having any matting? We haven't yet.
Anyway, just wanting to keep in touch with Elly's brother.
Pat
I am very concerned about the Health Care Reform. I know we need something done, but the small community Hospitals are struggling as it is. I worry about cut backs and quality care and prompt service. Oncology is such an expensive service with the cost of drugs and up to date Radiation Equipment. People are already choosing between eating and their meds.
Yes, Elly is very active. She is a very good dog though. She has stayed by herself all day very often. I just have to supply her things to occupy her and I think she sleeps a lot. We have a "mud room' and that is her home. I still do not let her roam at night, but will start that after I heal. I am better everyday. Hoping I will feel good for a least a couple of weeks before returnig to work so I can work with her again.
It would be great if we lived closer. Friends for both the dogs and us. I would love to see Buddy. You are so good at training. I could use the hints.
Talk to you soon, keep in touch
